Union Investment buys Midtown’s Ten 10th building for $150 million

Midtown’s Ten 10th Street building has sold to Union Investment GmbH for $150.5 million.

The transaction for the 420,000-square-foot project, also known as Millennium in Midtown, closed Aug. 29, according to Fulton County real estate records. Union Investment paid about $358 a foot for the 14-story building where Google maintains its Atlanta sales and engineering office.

MillerCoors to offer free MARTA rides for Falcons games against Tampa Bay, Carolina

MillerCoors has teamed with MARTA, the Atlanta Falcons and United Distributors Inc. to distribute 12,500 free round-trip Breeze tickets to fans at two games.

Chicago-based MillerCoors LLC said Miller Lite and Atlanta Falcons representatives will hand out free Breeze tickets on Sept. 11 when the Falcons face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and again on Oct. 2 when the Falcons square off against the Carolina Panthers. The tickets will be distributed between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the H.E. Holmes, Indian Creek, College Park and Lindbergh MARTAstations.

53-acre studio complex set to open in 2017

A 53-acre film and TV studio complex is quietly rising in an aging industrial area of southwest DeKalb County — one of the largest developments of its kind in metro Atlanta.

Valhalla Studios, located at 1415 Constitution Road near Starlight Drive-In, will include nine sound stages totaling 200,000 square feet, representing an investment of up to $70 million.

Atlanta developer Jim Irwin of New City LLC recently filed for a building permit in Atlanta to alter the circa-1914 building as part of his $155 million 725 Ponce project that includes a 12-story office building and a redeveloped Kroger.

Arthur Blank: Changing Westside ‘a 20-to 30-year commitment’

When Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank decided to build a new stadium next to the Georgia Dome several years ago, he had a parallel motive.

“We wanted this to be game-changer for the Westside, a catalyst,” recalled Blank, during an interview Aug. 10 with Atlanta Business Chronicle. “We will get the stadium built. But changing the Westside is going to be a 20- to 30-year commitment.”

Metzler looks at buying Midtown’s 10 Tenth Street for close to $150 million

Metzler Real Estate is emerging as the front-runner to buy Midtown’s 10 Tenth Street, as bids for the 14-story building where Google maintains its Atlanta sales and engineering office recently surpassed $350 a foot.

Banyan Street Capital and Oaktree Capital Management are selling the 421,746-square-foot office building, also known as Millennium in Midtown. The sale could approach $150 million, according to market estimates.
