$110 million Midtown project could spur reopening of 3rd St. tunnel

A $110 million student housing project is spurring momentum to reopen a key link between Georgia Tech’s campus and the southern end of Midtown — the Third Street Tunnel.

The 15-story tower at Spring, Williams, Third and Fourth streets features 257 apartments with 765 beds. The project got underway in August and is being developed by Athens-based Landmark Properties and Atlanta real estate company Selig Enterprises.
